Toni Pedersen
Summer tour and Fall tour

Toni Pedersen is a talented potter based in Pembroke, Ontario, specializing in hand-built ceramics that blend organic, nature-inspired designs with whimsical, playful elements. Her journey with clay began after years of exploring various creative mediums. It was the unique connection and peace she found in ceramics that truly captured her heart.

Living with fibromyalgia posed challenges for Toni, particularly in the fast-paced environment of Toronto. Seeking a quieter life, she and her family relocated to the Ottawa Valley, where the serene natural surroundings became a source of inspiration for her work. Her ceramics reflect her journey toward inner healing, designed to evoke calm, joy, and individuality.

Toni’s work is rooted in traditional hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab building. She embraces the tactile beauty of imperfection, creating pieces that are as therapeutic as they are expressive. Over the past two years, she has honed her skills through self-exploration and working alongside an established potter, developing a distinctive style that continues to evolve.

Teaching has become a rewarding extension of Toni’s practice. Recently, she completed her first 10-week session as an instructor, helping students find joy and connection through clay. Her passion for sharing knowledge has also enriched her role at Bumpy Roads Studio, where she works part-time, teaches workshops, and engages with the local pottery community.

You can find Toni’s work at Bumpy Roads Studio and through her Instagram page, where she frequently showcases her latest creations. Whether through commissions or community events, Toni’s dedication to her craft shines through in every piece, creating meaningful connections and bringing a sense of joy and individuality to all who encounter her work.
