Joseph Illupalik Palluq, an Inuk Carver/Sculptor, from Igloolik, Nunavut, began carving ivory and stone at the age of nine, following the tradition passed onto him by his Grandfathers, Autut Paliak and Abel Inuksuk.

Since arriving 'down South' in 1998, he has continued the tradition of carving Inuit motifs, using serpentine, marble, walrus tusk and teeth, whalebone, etc.  His specialty is Polar Bears.
