Located 1 km. south of Wilno OPEN SEASONALLY
Visit Joyce Burkholder's amazing sky lit studio/showroom while on both the Summer and Fall Studio Tours.
She is an award-winning and prolific artist who paints outdoors in all seasons as well as in her studio located only 1 km from Hwy 60, south of Wilno.
Truly inspired by the local wilderness landscape: the rugged and rocky, the wind-blown and mist-shrouded, the fantastic play of light on water...Joyce captures all this and more in her internationally collected oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings.
Each original painting is carefully framed to enhance. Joyce also has on display a large selection of reproductions printed on canvas in many sizes, unframed prints and art cards that suit every budget. Her work is beautifully presented with her partner Dan Hill's award-winning stoneware and porcelain pottery. Their property has a stunning valley view and is surrounded by perennial gardens. Come and see the flowers blooming during the summer tour and the dramatic display of colour for the fall tour.
Joyce has been a professional artist for more than 45 years. She attended the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and has since studied with many respected artists. She has been teaching painting for 10 years and offers fun and educational Painting Workshops every year, in scenic rural settings near Wilno.
An exciting book "Wild Women, Painters of the Wilderness" written by Joyce Burkholder, Linda Sorensen and Kathy Haycock is available at all 3 artists' studios on the tour. Many of their paintings are featured as well as dialogue, techniques and insight into their painting process.
Please visit Joyce Burkholder and Dan Hill, two highly acclaimed artists at Hillside Paintings and Pottery, open for the summer season, Wed - Sat, 11 - 4, or by chance or appointment, as well as during the SUMMER and FALL Studio Tours. The stunning valley view and the gardens are not to be missed!
